The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame is a tale of the adventures of four animal friends who live along a river in the English country side– Toad, Mole, Rat, and Badger.

The Water Rat, in Chapter Nine, is first confused and then swept away by the coming change in the seasons and the urge to travel.
